I Can Relate...

I've mentioned before that one of my favorite comic strips is Nine Chickweed Lane, up there with Mutts.

There's a couple of running themes through the strip, including Hallmarks of Felinity.

Another one is Crimes Against Adulthold which is always good.

But this really describes how I feel after this week of classes and work and everything else:

100 things about me

Got the idea from Janis's blog. It really get's harder after a while to think of *100* things.

  1. I love artichokes.
  2. I LOVE cheese.
  3. I don't like the taste of alcohol at all.
  4. My middle name is normally used before a married woman's name and is an Indian muslim title that roughly translates as "Lady" or "Princess".
  5. My Dadijan (grandmother) was a Begum.
  6. I grew up in Texas.
  7. I own a copy of the book I learned to read from.
  8. I loved cats and dogs, but my head usually swivels to check out a puppy.
  9. When I was little I pulled a hot iron down on my hand. It's still slightly darker were the scar used to be.
  10. I broke my arm when I was 4 years old by bouncing up and down on a bed until I fell off and hurt myself.
  11. I'm right-handed.
  12. I'm allergic to penicillin.
  13. I have a scar in my eyebrow from when I had chickenpox as a child.
  14. I used to speak so quietly that people would have to lean in or ask me to speak up so that they could hear me.
  15. My Pakistani grandfather founded a college.
  16. My Finnish grandfather died in Finland's Winter War - when my mother was bearly 4 years old.
  17. I never met either of my grandfathers - I only know them through photographs.
  18. I hate it when others whistle. Drives me nuts.
  19. I had many nicknames when I was younger. Fuzzy Bear, Fozie Bear, Fonzia.
  20. I still miss my dog Ruffy.
  21. I don't like human babies.
  22. I can write caligraphy.
  23. I slept with a 4 inch high teddy bear named Honey Bear until I was 12.
  24. I love surprises.
  25. I finally learned to knit.
  26. I think the new VW Beetles are just the cutest damn things on the road.
  27. My first car wreck totaled the car.
  28. I prefer station wagons.
  29. I used to roller skate up and down my street everyday after school.
  30. I can't ride a bike.
  31. I'm generally an optimist.
  32. If I'm not eating I'm very depressed about something.
  33. I can sing a number of children's songs in Finnish.
  34. I'm the first person in my family to vote.
  35. I was ranked in tennis in Texas for a short while.
  36. I am exactly 5 feet tall. No extra inches.
  37. I dislike social class definitions, and could possibly have fit myself or my immediate family into almost any/all of them at various times.
  38. I'm fascinated by food from around the world.
  39. I can't speak more than a few words of either of my parent's native languages.
  40. I love the ocean, and really miss not being closer to it.
  41. I am a Meyers-Briggs INFJ type. (Although I'm sometimes an INXX.)
  42. I have bowls of beads scattered around my house. I don't string them, I just keep them to run my fingers through 'em.
  43. I love baskets. I have LOTS of baskets. I probably have a basket fetish.
  44. My first word was "look".
  45. I like needlework and have done embroidery, crewl, cross-stitch, etc.
  46. I always get teary-eyed at the end of "Charlotte's Web."
  47. I love caves.
  48. My National Geographic collection goes back to 1967.
  49. I've built a snowman only once in my life.
  50. I like to bake.
  51. Jacques-Yves Cousteau was one of my heros.
  52. I was always fascinated with the life of Helen Keller.
  53. I love ladybugs and inchworms.
  54. Even when I was terribly shy, I would break out of my shell to battle someone who was bullying someone else. I HATE bullies
  55. I associate the sound of cicadids with the beginning of summer.
  56. I like earthtones. I do like bright colors too, but don't tend to surround myself with them.
  57. I can't sing, though I would really like to.
  58. I can't play an instrument, though I keep trying to learn the guitar and piano.
  59. I am a virgo.
  60. I once read over 100 books during the summer when I was in elementary school.
  61. I love to garden.
  62. If I even *look* at a daddy-long-legged spider he'll become a octopalegic.
  63. I hate wasps, but I have no problem with spiders or snakes. I've held a tarantuala before.
  64. I've been through several hurricanes and one tornado.
  65. I can solve a Rubix cube.
  66. I love to travel, and don't mind airports, packing, hotels, etc.
  67. I have every single fortune I ever got out of a fortune cookie all stashed away in a tin.
  68. I have osteoarthritis in my hands.
  69. When I was little I turned my closet floor into a mini-lab, with microscopes, chemistry stuff and preserved things in spice jars.
  70. I can handle some power tools.
  71. I want to have the statistical 2.5 "kids" - a cat, a dog, and a gerbil.
  72. My Uncle Pertti, now retired, was the Secretary general of Finland.
  73. I like glass bangles, and have a collection of over 300 glass and metal bangles.
  74. I hate high heels and never wear 'em.
  75. My eyes are hazel.
  76. My spice cabinet is stuffed to the gills with all kinds of things in lareg amounts. I could never use one of those small spice racks.
  77. Hot air-popped popcorn - absolutely fresh -is my choice for a snack while reading.
  78. My favorite cake is carrot cake.
  79. I think in terms of lists, and always have several lists around.
  80. I have almost always had a pet at some point in my life.
  81. I love chocolate.
  82. I don't like croutons.
  83. I don't like or understand apathy. I get angry with apathetic people.
  84. I have been to Finland, UK, France, Mexico, Canada, Pakistan.
  85. I have been to almost all the 50 United States.
  86. Lightning fascinates me.
  87. I once wrote a paper about the Loch Ness monster.
  88. I didn't really understand multiplication until a teacher showed me how to divide.
  89. Egg yolks make me gag.
  90. I love the look of brushed metal.
  91. My vision is very, very near-sighted.
  92. I have one younger sister, who is a doctor.
  93. I have never been camping.
  94. My hair is naturally curly.
  95. I once met Tim Berners-Lee.
  96. My very first school science project won a ribbon.
  97. I kept a diary of my trip to Finland when I was 8 years old.
  98. I have a photograph of my great=great-grandmother and great-great-grandfather on my mother's side.
  99. My undergraduate major is anthropology.
  100. I once thought I'd become a dentist.
