My vacation
6 January 2003, 9:33 AM

Whew. What a whirlwind holiday! I've been off from work since the 20th - I go back this Monday.

It was a busy first weekend, getting my apartment clean, packing and wrapping presents. I took a break to see a friend of mine who was in town - Kim Allen. Kim, Kim's parents, Sharon, Jeff and I headed out to see Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers at the Alamo Drafthouse. I wasn't expecting the Drafthouse to be that comfortable or to have such great sound, so I was pleasantly surprised. I'd definitely see another movie there.

>From then I went to Jeff's folks house for Christmas and later on the 25th drove out to my folks place in Tomball. Mom and I did a LOT of walking and shopping and cleaning. Jeff came for dinner the next Monday and got to officially meet my parents.

Mom and I then did some MORE shopping and watched a few DVDs. I also got to see Julia again! (It'd been a while.) She and I and Ellan (who is so *tall* now for her age) saw LOTR:TT again.

I've been back for only 4 days but it feels like a whole week. I had to go grocery shopping to stock my rather bare refrigerator and had a half-dozen errands to run. (Like paying rent, etc.) Now it's back to the usual day at work. I'm going to be taking classes again this semester - an archeology class, "World Pre-history" and an anthropology theories course.

More later!

(This was fun: If LotR Had Been Written By Someone Else!?)
