It was rainy all day yesterday so the city had to postpone the fireworks
celebration. They're going to try again tonight. Even so, I got to see
quite a few fireworks, as our neighbors set off a huge load of 'em.
Gorgeous too!Jeff also bought a a whole bunch of fireworks for his sister's wedding
(coming up in two weeks). A *LOT* of fireworks. The guy who helped us
carry 'em out to the car said, "Have a nice war!" Smartass.
I got to try a sparkler for the first time. Nifty cool!!! I'm kinda
surprised these haven't yet caught on as something to sell next to the
incense in pagan stores for circle gatherings etc. I *like* these things.
The rest of the day was kinda low key - lots of sleep, more unpacking,
etc. I dropped off my sewing machine to get it fixed (hopefully) and
cleaned. (The thread tension knob came off and won't stay back on!) I
really would like that in working order soon - I want to start sewing
curtains! I bought a few patterns (McCalls, on sale for 99 cents each) and
oohed and ahhed over some more of the expensive decorator fabrics.
I also dropped by Hobby Lobby to check out their sales, and was
totally overwhelmed by their new store. They'd expanded into the old
Dollar Store next to them, nearly doubling their space and they've stocked
up their shelves even more. Wow! I only bought a few silk flowers for my
dining room, but I'll be back.
