Just took yet another exam in my Spanish class, and I have another one
next Wednesday! Hoo-boy, summer classes go by fast! The week after that is
the final exam and then I'm FREEEEEEEEEE for two weeks. Not that I'll
notice or anything since we'll be buried in projects at work, but hey. :-)I've nothing else to share today - my brain is on pause, and I've got too
much to do at work and at home. For that reason we're planning a little
get-away this weekend - partly to look after Jeff's folk's house and cats
while they're gone and partly just-because. We'll head on up to Fredericksburg for a
little window shopping and to visit the Wildseed Farms for big bags of
wildflower seeds.
For the time being, I think I can do a little gardening on our back deck.
It's only access is a narrow set of stairs, and while the deer in the area
are bold enough to come up onto patios and decks and right next to the
house, I think navigating those stairs would be difficult enough that they
won't bother. I plan to take the black-eyed Susan vine outside, put it in
a bigger pot and park it next to the chimney, with a trellis for it to
climb. I can hang flower baskets along the railing, and I'll plants some
herbs and veggies in little post in my baker's rack.
The deck SORELY needs sanding and a new coat of paint, but we'll do that
later, in better weather. We'll have to move all my plants when we get
around to it, but that's okay. I just GOTTA dig in the dirt a bit NOW. :-)
Besides, it's cool enough at night to enjoy it - I might as well start
experimenting with the outdoor decorating. :-)
