Lots of stuff via the BBC today:Forest Fires
are raging in France, Delhi's body
collector turns 80 and Bollywood
joker Walker dies.
A new TV
show has five gay men
makeover a straight guy. (This is where I admit that I watch the
original British version of
What Not to Wear.)
Also for the guys via new Scientist: Tight ties
may be bad for eyes.
And via CNN Telemarketers
sue over do-not-call list
I have no sympathy. They have plenty of
exemptions even under the Do Not Call List, "Exemptions from the list
include calls from charities and pollsters and calls on behalf of
politicians. A company also may call a person on the no-call list if that
person has bought, leased or rented from the company within the past 18
months or has inquired about or applied for something during the past
three months." That means they have plenty of opportunity to still
bother the heck out of me. I think telemarketers and spammers have the
same place in Dante's Hell. And between filters, Caller ID, Do-Not-Call
lists etc. I intend to thwart their every move.
