The solar flares haven't let up. In fact, the biggest one yet was this past Sunday: Sun produces monster solar flare. More aurora watching for those of you in northern climes!

And that's not the only nifty space-related news: The Voyager 1 spacecraft has reached the edge of our solar system. There's apparently some debate as to whether it has actually left the solar system, or whether it's merely close to leaving the solar system. Regardless, it's new territory it's crossing.

In environmental news, Sumatra illegal loggers are slammed
" The Indonesian Environment Minister has called illegal loggers "terrorists" - after a flash flood on the island of Sumatra killed at least 80 people. Another 100 people are missing after the disaster, which is thought to have been made worse by extensive logging removing cover that once retained rain."

It annoys me that the word "terrorists" is starting to get over-used. It'll lose all it's meaning, if it still has any. Nevertheless, illegal logging in Indonesia is now a serious problem.
