I wish I'd heard about this earlier - I would have followed it closely. Today Louisiana voters go to the polls to choose a governor, and no matter who they choose it'll be a historic choice.

If he wins, he'll be the first non-white governor of Louisiana since the period after the Civil War, and the first Indian-American to win such a high office too boot.

If she wins, she'll not only be the first woman governor of Louisiana, but the first woman governor of the Deep South.

Interesting no matter how you look at it. I wonder who will win?
