Via the BBC: 'E-museum' for Pakistani treasures

Many would scoff at the idea of launching an "e-museum" in Pakistan, where national museums are constantly derided for their low numbers of visitors.

"They have got to be kidding," says artist Qaiser Khan. "Just how many hits do you think they're going to get?"

The e-museum, the first of its kind in Pakistan, hopes to launch in August.

The Faqir Khana already has a general website but the e-museum site promises to be just that - a museum on the web.

To answer Mr. Khan: "Um, how about lots of hits?" Geez. Putting the museum's collections online is an excellent idea. It gives access to these treasures to people who wouldn't normally visit Pakistan.

More here: F3ll0wsh1p of teh R1ng. For those of you scratching your heads and thinking, "Huh?", I suppose the terms "hacker slang", though not quite accurate, will give you enough of an idea.

I loved this little bit from Bookish Gardener about how she rescued a dragonfly recently. The Twelve Spotted Skimmer she saved looks very much like one I saw the other day in our yard.

They're just so beautiful. Tissue-paper delicate, jeweled colors that sparkle in the sun. I'm finding myself growing more and more fond of dragonflies every day - as I did the last couple of years with ladybugs, and with butterflies the year before.

So I did a couple of quick Google searches to see what nifty and unusual dragonfly things I could find online. I might have to get myself one of these and I'll definitely have to get this. These were nice too. And this is a simply gorgeous watercolor.
