Woo-hoo! Alton Brown answers the questions at Slashdot, at last!

I loved the answer to the question about the Iron Chef.

He seemed a bit ... "off" ... in a lot of the answers. I'm kinda assuming that it's because Good Eats has become so successful that he's get busier than he ever dreamed. He sounded a bit harried and rushed, maybe even stressed in some of his answers. And he's such a cool guy usually. Even though I was disappointed in his answer to the lava-flow cooked chicken question, I'll give him a break.

By-the-way - cooking a chicken using a couple of shovelfuls of lava? Now that's SERIOUSLY cool. I would LOVE to be able to try that.

Recipe of the Week

I haven't shared a recipe in a while so here goes:

1 lb ground beef
1 package frozen peas
Spices to taste: ginger, cumin, garlic, onion powder, salt, black pepper
About a tablespoon of tomato pesto (optional)
2 tablespoons of plain yogurt
3 green olives, sliced
Some shredded cheese
1 tortilla

Brown the ground beef. Add the spices and incorporate thoroughly. Add the frozen peas and cook until they are no longer frozen. Add the tomato pesto, stir through throughly and remove from heat.

Warm the tortilla ( I usually zap in a microwave for a couple of seconds). Add the shredded cheese and sliced olives. Spoon on the meat mixture, then top with the yogurt. Roll up like a burrito and enjoy!
